Recon is a word associated with the United States Marine Corps. It refer to a small force to gathers valuable intelligence. Then the intelligence is use to formulate a strategy for troop deployment.
We here at The Shopping Nazi does not do product reviews or reviews of services. We do product RECON’s. We do these RECON’s to gather the best and most objective information. Our RECON brings in product testing, and what those who use the product have to say about that it.
Product reviews require time and material testing under varied conditions. We here at The Shopping Nazi do not have the material or facilities to do run test. However, there are plenty place through out the world that do. We pull from those resources in our recons.
The average family that has a couple of children does not have the time or the resources to do recon on any major purchase. That is why so many people waste money on getting some thing that is well below what they had thought it to be. We do the RECON’s as a tool to help make discussions before heading out the door to buy anything.
This last week my main computer monitor decided that it was not going to working any more. I had not planned to replace it for another couple of years. I knew I needed to replace it, but I did not know for sure how much it was going to cost me. About 2 years ago I paid just over $250 for the one that died.
While I was debating weather to buy the replacement monitor online or at a local store. A friend had offered to loan me a older CRT flat screen, until I got a new one. So the time factor in ordering online was not an issue.
The monitor that died was an Acer 20″ widescreen. It scene to stay with Acer and size because it has served me well in the past. Besides there has not been any real negative things said about the Acer monitor.
I check out some of my favorite websites like Amazon.com, and Geeks.com. Then Wal Mart and Best Buy. This was one time that the online price before shipping and in store price was just a few pennis different.
Before we left the house we had determined that what brand and size we were going to get as a replacement monitor. Wal Mart was going to give us our best deal. When we got to our closest Wal Mart they did not have a 20″ Acer monitor. They did have a 19″, 22″ and 24″ monitors. The 22″ monitor was only $15 more than the what we knew the 20″ price.
With all that being said, I want you to know that a RECON is to pull in from different resources to help get the best quality of product at the best possible price.
If you would like to see a specific RECON, email us through the contact page. Well will be happy to help.
