Where do you going shopping? How much do you spend when you go shopping? By answering these two questions, I can tell you what you like to buy, and how much research you do before buying. Mostly likely I can see areas where you can save money.
Help me help you save money. Send me a months worth of your receipts. I can tell if your are an emotional shopper or a frugal shopper. When you do send me those receipts, I will send you a $20 gift card, if I use those receipts in future posts.
There is an alternative motive behind getting having you sending me your receipts. This is my way of finding where you are shopping, what your are buying, and what things you want me to research for you. Then I can take this information and plan further post around your purchases.
Don’t worry, I am not going to use your name or email address other than sending you the $20 gift card. All you have to do is scan your receipts into PDF format. then email them to me at efcussins@theshoppingnazi.com as an attachment. Put in the subject line Receipts. If you are having trouble emailing them, email me and I will set up a PO box for you. So start collecting those receipts.
For today, we be taking a looking at some statics from the research professionals. According to a recent poll conducted by America’s Research Group,
- 25% of respondents said they had shopped at a Target store in the past 30 days
- 69% said they had shopped in a Walmart
- 5.5 % shopped at Kmart.
Another survey shows a whopping 82% of those surveyed are planning to spend less this Christmas over last year. Since consumer spending accounts for a large portion of the U.S. economy. It may be a bleat Christmas shopping season for businesses. Us shoppers may just see some really great deals come Christmas.
Another little statistic shows about 68% of those surveyed said they have now started shopping at dollar stores. 42% of those said dollar stores offered better value than discounter Wal-Mart, Target or mass merchandising stores.
Bottom-line: On the surface these statistics show a trend people moving to dollars stores. Granted there is money saving deals there. However, I have seen some items costing 99 cents, then across the street at Winco the same item costing 78 cents.
As much as we want, there is no one store that saves money on everything. Factors like driving time and cost of driving from one store to another needs to be factored into what the best overall deal.
