A year or so after I moved from California to Idaho, I went back with some co-workers. We were sent to the Monterey Bay area for a week long team building seminar. During the drive from the airport to our hotel for the first night several of my co-workers were commenting they saw very few pickup trucks. This started me taking notice of the ratio of pickup truck to cars.
By the time we finished our 30 minute drive, I realized that the people, as a whole, in Monterey Bay area drive less pickup trucks to car ratio is less than those in Idaho. This got me thinking back to when I lived in California that I was almost always getting ask to help move something with my truck. When I move to Idaho, almost everybody had a truck, to move some large item.
This past week I found a web page on Auto.Yahoo.com that listed the weekly top ten trucks for the week.  So this week I want to look at what they are showing as those popular truck. Naturally, I am going to share them with you in reverse order.
10. 2011 Ford F-450 SD Crew Cab 4X4
9. 2011 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab
7. 2011 Ford F-150 SuperCab 4X4
5. 2010 Ford F-150 SuperCab SVT 4X4
4. 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor 4X4
2. 2011 Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4X4
In March PickupTrucks.com list the following trucks as their top ten. Naturally, these are in reverse order, also.
10. Nissan Titan
9. Chevrolet Colorado
8. Nissan Frontier
7. Ford Ranger
6. Toyota Tundra
5. Toyota Tacoma
4. GMC Sierra
3. Ram Trucks
2. Chevrolet Silverado
1. Ford F-Series
Bottom-line: I thought it was quite interesting that depending on which website you go to, there is a considerable variation in what is considered the best truck and best value for your hard earned dollar. At Yahoo the models were more specific than at at PickupTrucks.com. Yahoo has more trucks from Ford’s than any other manufacture. PickupTrucks.com is spread across all the manufacture pretty much evenly.
This has prompted me to take a closer look at the what these two list and other list as the most popular pickup trucks. Over the next five weeks we will be looking at the following five pickup trucks.  Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier, 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor 4X4, 2011 Honda Ridgeline, and the Chevrolet Silverado.
Join me right here for the next five Wednesday and see why these trucks are rated as the most popular in the United States, today.
