I am constantly hearing people verbalize their concerns about internet security and online privacy over the internet. This is a very real concern, because lost of certain personal information can cost you a lot of money. On the other hand you can spend a lot of money for minimal protection. Like most everything else, it is not how much you spend, but where you spend it. The Tech Guy, Leo Laporte says, If you have information on the internet, it is to be considered open to the public. This is so true. If you put anything on the internet consider it can be read by everyone who has internet access. Now there are certain things we don’t want out on the internet for everyone to have access too. I am talking about things like your Social Security card number, bank account numbers, and passwords. This stuff should be guard in every way possible. I hear people constantly saying, “Free is Good”. Free can be good when it comes to protecting your self from identity theft. Free can be good when it comes to protecting yourself from losing control of your computer. The most basic of things you can do to protect yourself is free. [...]

Have you been listening to the tech news? Apple is in the process of suing HTC, Motorola, and Samsung. A judge has forced Samsung to stop selling the Galaxy Tab in Europe. HP, in a panic, started selling their TouchPad for $99. Just this week Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs has stepped down. Now investors and Apple users are worried about the future of the Apple products. The stock market just yesterday devalued Apple as a company. Where does this leave me and my cell phone? Granted my cell phone is more of a computer than a cell phone. Over that past couple of years we have seen great changes in the way we use our cell phones. I believe the basic law of physics is being applied to what we are seeing. “For every action there is a equal reaction”. It was comment on Leo LaPorte’s TWIT, that the tablets computers are going through a fad stage, and will go the way of netbooks. Remember when the netbook first came out. A large amount of people were buying them just because now they were able to have something smaller and lighter than a full size laptop. This year we saw all these tablets [...]

If I need to take a quick business trip from Boise, Idaho to San Francisco to meet with Leo Laporte, I could easily spend a $1,000. Now if I did some research and planning, I could cut that cost in half. A flight to San Francisco from Boise Idaho starts at $216, with one stop in Salt Lake City. Most of the discount airline booking website average around $260 to $300 for a round trip ticket, for the same trip. Now there is a few things that you can or can not do that will raise that cost. Pre-Ship Luggage - If you have a lot of luggage you may want to pre-ship it UPS. Airlines are watching how much up check as well as what you carry on the plane. Many of the airline are charging $25 to $50 extra per piece. This is where shipping an extra bag of cloths to your hotel may just be cheaper Shop n Save - Shop around for the best deal for the flight. Airlines put their sales out on Tuesday. These sales run for two or three days. Then booking a few months in advance can save you more money. Be Flexible - Going to an alternate airport might just [...]
