Gas Mileage Lies
On morning news there was a sniped about a lady who sued Honda for misrepresentation of their gas mileage. It was in small claims court, but still won $10,000. Interesting! It has become pretty much accepted, by all of us, what the sticker gas mileage would be under ideal condition. I am glad someone has stepped up to say, "We are not going to take it anymore!" When I look at different makes...
Touch Screen Desktop Computers
I first saw touch screens computers in the food processing industry back in the late 90's. Since then the technology and the price has been slowly been dropping. As a result we now see more cell phones with touch screens than without. The overall adoption of a touch screen desktop computer has been slow mostly because of the cost. We are seeing the price going under the $1,000 mark. This makes ...
Social Responsible Buying
Last week the name Foxconn and Apple were in all the headlines. It was not about great profits, or some new electronic gadget. It was about the inhumane treatment of the workers in China. What is interesting to note is that Foxconn does not just manufacture electronics for Apple. Foxconn manufacture over 50% of the electronics sold in the United States. Mistreatment of works or labors misbeh...

While attending a local trade show I noticed a large majority of the vendors were using iPads. There were only a few who had other tablets....

Here we are at the end of January 2012. Texas is getting heavy rains. Snow and Cold is covering most all of the northern hemisphere. I close my eyes and think of a hot summer day with the sun beating down on may face. Then in an instant, I jump into a nice cool swimming pool. Yes, what better time to plan a summer vacation than when the chilling cold is biting your bones, and the sky is all gloomy...

Groupon Coupon Yollar Crazy
I a generally stay away from the whole cutting of coupons. The putting them into an organized folder, and taking this big folder to the grocery store. In addition I get frustrated when I have to look for the brand and size of soda matches my coupon. We reached the second day of December 2010. The Christmas shopping season is well on its’ way. Depending on what website you read or what news program you watch you get a different list of top Christmas gifts, this year.

I wanted to give you my list of my top seven Christmas gifts. I looked at lists from a national local news programs, web commentators and people who have asked me about what to get their friends and family for Christmas. Then I put together my list of recommendations.

Xbox 360 w/Kinect – The Kinect is an added on to the Xbox 360. It basically gives you a hands free game playing. Your bare hands are the controller. According to all my resources say that it is slow responding. Many tech sources are saying to wait until next year.

Secret Santa

Secret SantaYesterday, before I left the office, I had received an email that informed me that Kyle X was the individual who I was to be their secret Santa. Our gifts were to be under $10. The organizer suggested that a gift from the local 99 cent store would be appropriate. If we really like the person, maybe a regift something that we had received in Christmas past, that we really did not want.

This year I was determined to make more out of Christmas than just, pulling some old gift out of my gift box and wrap it. I hate giving gifts, that when people open them they have this fake smile and say Thank You.

Before heading out to look for that perfect Secret Santa gift, I decided to look at the origin of Secret Santa. I figured by looking into the history, maybe I could better understand my role.

Posted By: The Shopping Nazi on December 15, 2009 in Christmas - Comments: 3 Comments »

Xmas GiftsTen days to go until Christmas. Today, I thought it would be good to look at what is considered  the Top Ten Hottest Christmas gifts for 2009.

Now mind you I have arranged them in a rather unique way. They are arranged in reverse emotional/cost order. You see what cost the most in dollars and cents may have the least emotional value.

For today’s recon, my first stop was to look at what Festivals.iloveindia.com lists as the top ten. Then I jumped over to Yahoo Answers to look at what they said was the Top Ten Christmas gifts for 2009. I would be amiss if I did not look at Amazon.com for what they call the Top Ten Christmas Gifts. Then I found a list of Cool Stuff that is not really all that expensive.
