In Boise Idaho there are two great hangout places to hang out while waiting for Spring. Last weekend was a three day weekend for because of President’s Day. This meant there was a lot of extra time.
The weather was not good for any real outdoor activity other than skiing. As far as indoor activity there was going to the local gym to workout those depressing feelings. Then there was to go to Boise Town Square Mall.
Last Saturday afternoon I took the family out to dinner and walk the mall. Once we go near the parking lot I could see we weren’t the only ones who had the same idea. The population at Boise Town Square Mall rivaled the week before Christmas.
Like any dad, I want to see the best for my children. When it comes to buying for back to school supplies and clothes it can be a bit of a tug of war. This increases as they get older. Girls more so than boys. I am talking about staying within budget!
I am talking about the definition of basics. Last year I did not see what was wrong with the backpack my daughter had from the year before. The concept of a needing a messenger bag to carry over a perfectly functional backpack was beyond my understanding.
School has just started. Some school districts are already giving kids take a couple days off while teachers are given in-service-training. Why teachers could not be given in-service-training during the summer months, is something I cannot understand.
So I decided this would be a good time to get my daughters perspective. I took her with me on one of my recon trips.
Now realize she is 9 years old going on 21. She is quite opinionated about what she likes and does not like. This is especally true when it comes to fashion. She may even be the next Raven-Symoné.
I thought the day would be a good learning experience for me. I have always known that if I bought anything at great savings, and it was not be used, when I had just wasted my money.
