Since before Thanksgiving I have been slowing giving into the idea of getting a tablet. I have looked at all the major brands of tablets and eReaders. I have been trying to imagine how often I would use it. I watch how other people would use their tablets.
While attending a local trade show I noticed a large majority of the vendors were using iPads. There were only a few who had other tablets. Several business friends and associates now have tablets. They all seem to be using them successfully.
I really started to give this tablet thing more serious thought when I was at a luncheon. I was asked, unexpectedly, to read something that I had wrote. All I had on me was my cell phone. I pulled up Evernote on my cell phone. The text was so small I had to almost put my nose up to the screen to read it.
I still don’t like the $400 to $600 price tag. When I looked at the Barnes and Noble Nook along with the Kindle Fire my interest got sparked. I began to look at these two quite seriously. I do like their price point along with their functionality.
Growing up one of my fondest memories of Christmas was getting presents in the mail. They came from relatives who lived across the United States. Aunts and uncles in Arkansas would send boxes of mixed nuts. They had a farm where they grew nuts. Other relatives in Los Angels would send a box of candy. We could count on grandma to send winter gloves, or a hats to keep us warm.
At the beginning of December dad would come home with boxes of towel sets, and other box gift sets. Then he would pull out all those brown paper bags from the grocery store. He had been saving all year. Each gift set was wrapped in brown paper and tied with course brown string. The labels were carefully hand written before being stuck on the package.
We are getting close to Christmas. If you have not shipped off your Christmas presents, you had better get them wrapped, and down to the shippers office. Regardless as to what UPS, USPS, or FEDEX tells you. This is their busiest time of the year. Mail it to it may not get there.
So in this post I would like us to look at all your shipping options.

Since I am currently looking for a 15″ Acer laptop for a family member. So I did some price comparisons. Amazon.com was showing me a of price was $349. The same laptop from Wal Mart the week prior to Thanksgiving was selling for $318.
Just a few days ago, I was talking to this lady, who with some friends and family members head out to different stores on Black Friday. They text each other as to which stores have what price on which items. The individual that is at that store, where it is cheapest makes the purchase for those who are not.

We are closing in on the last 10 days of the 2010 Christmas shopping season. People are working hard to make this the best possible Christmas in years. It has been a hard the last few years for shoppers and retailers. However, this year we are seeing early reports saying this Christmas shopping season will be the best in quite a few years.
Even the old tradition of carrying arm loads of packages into the local Post Office are being streamed line for ease of those who are shipping their Christmas packages. I am writing about the old tradition of going to the local Post Office with arms full of packages. Then standing in a long line for what seems like hours. Once getting to the counter where the Postal employee standing behind. He or she is slowly methodically checking the address, figuring the postage, and then in an authoritive voice announces the cost for shipping those packages.
It was not to long ago we were lucky to have one computer at home with a dial up connection. Today, it is common place to have two or more computers along with a gaming console where each device needs a high speed internet connection.
At one time it was recommended that you connect all these devices with wires called Ethernet cable. Today you can choose whether to connect from that central point where the internet comes into your home by wires or wirelessly. The distribution of the internet is done through what is called a router.
It will soon be our daughter’s 10th birthday. She wants a MP3. Eventually, she has been looking around. She knows which one she wants at what price, and from what store.
As a true protective parent I want to make sure the MP3 player that she gets will be the best one for her. The first place I went was to the internet and Cnet.com to look at their ratings of MP3 players. Cnet.com showed 287 players for under $50. Then I started to scan through the list.
It would of have taken me several days to look at all 287 MP3 players. So I filter to user rating. There was only two that were rated by users. Both of them were SanDisk. The same brand the my MP3 player is.

Last week when I walked into the place where I get my haircut, I was greeted by the owner. In her hand was a plastic shopping bag that containing a DVD player. As she raised the bag to my chest level she said, “It doesn’t work, I need you to fix it.”
I took the DVD player and started to look at it. After about five minutes, I realized it was time to replace. the drive motor for spinning the DVD’s was burned out. What caused the DVD motor to burn out was the thin medal case pressed down on the drive assembly not letting it to spin.
