Hot Dog – What are you paying for?

This week I sent my spies to some local grocery store, across town. I wanted them to look at what they are charging for hot dogs. They reported back to me the following results.

  • $1.99 for one pound of  8 good hot dogs. That works out to  24.875 per hot dog.hotdogs
  • The cheaper package of hot dogs that sell for 68 cents only has 8 hot dogs. That means you are paying 8.5 cents per hot dog.
  • Their top of the line hot dogs were $3.89 for a package of 8. That would make 48.6 cents per hot dog.
  • At another leading grocery store they are charging 79 cents for their package of 8 hot dogs. That works out to 9.875 cents per hot dog.

Yes there are more expensive hot dogs. But I do not like to spend a lot of money. I have better things to spend my money
