If you were sitting on the fence about buying a eReader, there are inexpensive ways to find out if you will ever use one. Then there are times you can be in the right place a the right time a get a great deal. Mrs NC. did just that. Here is her story and review.
Recently, I wanted to purchase Shift 3 LookBook eReader ereader from Grocery Outlet. It was only $39.99.
Now mind you it’s like any other type of eReader, but a lot cheaper. It WiFi capable . It has lots of features. It shows you what your currently reading. It lists your library of ebooks.
The LookBook even gives you one-touch purchase. A full color display will unlocks new reading of cookbooks newspapers and magazines.
Is your printer old and worn out? Have you been thinking about upgrading your printer? Good printers with a scanner for home or small office are starting around $100. For a few dollars more you can get some amazing features.
Just the other day, I was listening one of my favorite tech podcast when I heard them mention 3D printing. This got me thinking about the possibilities for printing things in 3D. Auto shops could print replacement parts for our cars. We would not have to go to the toy store. We could just print out new toys for out kids. What about printing out a last minute Christmas present?
Science fiction? 3D printing could turn a lot of what we saw in the Star Trek movies and television shows a reality. After all look at the our cell phones and tablets. They are far lighter and more streamline than the ones shown in the first Star Trek TV shows of the 1960′s.
In a perfect world we would just hire a home theater specialist to come over to our house in the morning. In the evening, when we get home, at the end of the day, we have the perfect home theater system. It would consist of all brand new state of the art top of the line components. On the coffee table there would be one easy to use remote control. The remote control would control the 3D television, the Stereo, the Blue Ray player, as well as adjust all the sound levels in our new 12:1 system sound system.
Unfortunately, we do not live in a perfect world. We do not have an unlimited supply of money to put into our home theater system. Many people whom I have talked with have a cookie cutter living room. In that living room is a out of the box system.
I know football season is here. It is only going to get more exciting as the season progresses. For football season it would be really nice to upgrade to my current home theater system before the playoffs. So here is some relativitly low cost ways to upgrade our home theater, thus making my viewing experience better.
Our first stop will be at DIY Home Theater Design. What got my attention about this website is how we can enhance our experience by changing the physical surrounding. Things like room lighting, placement of wires along with room layout can make a big difference.
Today’s post can have several titles. It could be call Price Comparison. It could be called Good Better Best. Or it could even be titled Finding the Best Possible Quality at the Best Possible Price. However, I have title it Website for Finding What You Want. All the titles summing up what I have written.
On the internet there is a lot of websites offering the best deal for almost everything you can think of buying. If you believe what you read, you may just be losing quality and money. Why?
Everyone who puts up any kind of website wants to sell you something. They can make it look good. They can make it look like you are getting a real deal, by quoting a suggested retail price and their discount of 50% or more. They tell you it is high quality and you should buy it now.
There are two things about this mere statement “Discount of 50%” that is misleading. First, it is a foolish waste of money to pay suggested retail price, or even manufacture’s list price for anything. That number is what suckers pay. Second, the 50% discount is telling me there is some other place where I can possibly get the very same item for less money. So what do I use for a frame of reference for when pricing any goods or services?
Summer vacation is over. The kids are back in school. Over the next few months we are going to have more and more indoor activities. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas make up the three great days holidays remaining in this year. These holiday make a perfect time to record memories with family and friends.
Still picture are okay, but they just give you a fraction of a second of that event. A video camera can capture that fraction of a second plus what led up to the picture and afterwards.
Who knows maybe the video of this Halloween party may be the video of the day on YouTube. You want the video you take that goes viral video look the best. After all the whole world is going to see it. It may even get featured on the Today Show.
To accomplish a great looking viral video, you are going to need something more than just the camcorder feature on your cell phone. You are going to want the picture sharp and clear as you can possibly.
It was quite sometime ago, I got nervous about blindly clicking on the check box when it says accept the terms and conditions to install some software. I spend several days reading through the terms and conditions of the software I had on my computer.
Before I was finished I was shock that I did not own any of the software I had purchased. I had just purchased the privilege to use the software. If I had any problems, I could not get a refund. I would just have to wait to get the update to fix the issue I was having.
After talking with a few friends, I thought it would be good to look at some Terms and Conditions within the current cell phone, tablet, computer market. I think you will be interest what is in the middle of all that legal wording.
Taking pictures, and preserving memories on paper or on some digital format helps reliving them with family and friends so great. In the last few years there has been such a growth of ways to preserve those pictures.
The camera used to take those pictures can make a world of difference in the mood set in the picture. Sure you have photo editing programs like Photoshop for the creation of a memorial picture. However, if you do not have a good camera that takes half way decent pictures, a masterful program like Photoshop cannot make a masterpieces out of garbage.
Except for a very few almost all cell phones have a built in camera. Only the low end phones in ones only allow to to text or mail those pictures taken. The mid to high end cell phones give you the option to transfer those pictures to your computer via a USB cable.
Have you been listening to the tech news? Apple is in the process of suing HTC, Motorola, and Samsung. A judge has forced Samsung to stop selling the Galaxy Tab in Europe. HP, in a panic, started selling their TouchPad for $99.
Just this week Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs has stepped down. Now investors and Apple users are worried about the future of the Apple products. The stock market just yesterday devalued Apple as a company.
Where does this leave me and my cell phone? Granted my cell phone is more of a computer than a cell phone. Over that past couple of years we have seen great changes in the way we use our cell phones. I believe the basic law of physics is being applied to what we are seeing. “For every action there is a equal reaction”.
What I love about the age in which we live. The large volume of available tools for learning is astounding. It does not matter what our learning style is as to what we can find to help us.
Most of us do learn in one of three ways. We either read, see, or do to make taught material part of us. There are some of us who need a combination of the three.
Another great thing about the 21st Century many of these learning tools are Free to little extremely reasonably priced. That is what I want to explore today.
First off I is our transition from the heavy paper books to their digital grand children. A large portion of paper books have been replace in the 21st Century by digital books. These can be read from a desktop or laptop computer, eReader or tablet, and a smart phone.
Every time I think about car repair, I get nervous. Why? Have you looked under the hood of your car, lately?
I am from the old school where the family car needed work, dad would pull out the tools and fix it himself. If he could not fix it, he would call a friend from down the road to help him.
At that time all you needed to work on a car or pickup truck was some wrenches, a set of sockets, and maybe two analog meters. Today it much much different. Why? Today’s cars have some a complex computer system it takes a highly trained individual to do much more than change tires.
I must admit that cars do last longer, are safer, help us with our driving imperfections, and provide more creature comfort while riding in them. I remember when the family car needed a major overhaul at 100,000 miles, today I see vehicles passing the 200,000 mile mark before needing any work. It was not until the 1970′s when airbags were being put in cars, as a movement among auto manufactures to make the family car more safe. This include an antilock braking system that is found in all cars today. The integration of our cell phone, and other electronic devices make many a modern car buy lower their jar in amazement.
