About a month ago, I was browsing through the camera section of Wal Mart. There they had a couple of digital cameras and three camcorders on clearance. The JVC Everio MG50 had a very attractive price of $125.00. Then I started wondering why so cheep?
I did a quick check form my cell phone. I got some no so hot of reviews form Cnet.com. Then it dawn on me that the MG50 was last years model, along with the not so hot reviews was why it was on clearance. So I passed.
Since JVC Everio GZ-MG630 is the 2010 model, I am always willing to take a second look at anything, especially with a new model year. Besides, I like the way the JVC Everio’s look and feel. The small handheld sleek design is quite attractive.
The idea to have one camera for taking still pictures and movies is great. Whether it is a family outing or Christmas production at my daughters school, I am always finding opportunities to take pictures. I love to share those pictures, because shared pictures are sharing great memories.
A first look at the JVC MG630 with its 800X digital and 35X optical zoom camcorder would be great for taking pictures at a distance. Then having a 60 gigabyte internal hard drive makes saving those picture easy. Oh yes, add a microphone for recording sounds that go along with the pictures. What more can you ask?
Then price of JVC Everio GZ-MG630 ranges from $250 to $400. This would be a nice price for a family camera/camcorder combo.
Bottom-line: I usually don’t like being so negative. The more reviews I read the less I get impressed. It was not for one outstanding issue. The negative reviews were for a variety of issues. I just have not found anyone who really likes the JVC Everio. This camcorder should be recalled for general principles.
