Bacon N Eggs Bacon and eggs, please. I will take two eggs over easy, whole wheat toast, and two strips of bacon. Oh could you make my bacon on extra crispy.

Doctors will tell you that bacon screams heart attack. How comes it is still the major part of any America’s diet. All it is a little pork meat and a lot of fat. A lot of flavorful fat that adds to the comfort level of one’s morning coffee. Eggs and toast are there as the healthy part of the morning breakfast.

Now bacon is not just for breakfast. There is the popular BLT, bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. Then there is a hamburger sandwich with bacon strips on top. I could go on will all the other recipes that use bacon. In fact, there is a whole website devoted to the recipes that use bacon. It is BaconRecipes.com.

Now what does it cost for this gourmet food? Well, a 12 ounce package of 11 strips of regular BarS bacon will cost about $1.79. That breaks down to just under 15 cents per strip of bacon.

If you are a real bacon lover, and like your bacon nice and thick. You can buy a 16 ounce package of BarS bacon. It still has 11 strips of bacon, but it will cost you $2.49. Making the cost per strip at just under 23 cents.

Regular bacon strip weights 1.09 ounces. The thick cut bacon strip weighs 1.45 ounces.

Regular bacon weighs per ounce 14.9 cents per ounce. The thick cut bacon weighs just over 15.5 cents per ounce.

This is one case where buying more quantity will cost you more per ounce.
