Are you aware that a color of a car can cost or save you money? If you are like many of us we choose the color of our car from emotional like or dislike.
The mechanical functions of a car is logical. The car works within a set of parameter or not. Over a period of time a car will cost “X” amount of dollars to operate. Did you know the choice of the color of your car affect the amount of money that car will cost you in the long run.
A Black or dark colored car will absorb heat from the sun in the summer. This will cause the air conditioner work harder. A car painted white is harder to see in the middle of a snow storm, thus make it more likely to be involved in a collision with another car. A silver colored car seems to blend in with the road, making it invisible to other motorist.
Police seem to stop red colored cars more frequently than any other color, and more traffic tickets. Our mini van is turquoise, making it visible in most all weather condition along with not provoking any strong emotion.
Last December 1, 2009, DuPont annually releases a report as to what is the most popular colors. I found at infoplease.com a republish of a list from DuPont the car painting experts.
