Christmas and New Years is over. We are 16 days into a new year. Most businesses use this time to regroup, examine profits and plan sales strategies for the 2010. Other stores are trying to unload unsold products.
After looking around, I see a lot of businesses who have closed their doors. There are still others who are downsizing. I cannot help think that all the stores that are currently empty and have gone out of business was because of driving customers away.
I know for myself the way I am treated by a business determines if I go back or not. Below is a list of the top 5 things that annoys me about a product or service.
To Many Disclosures – Have you ever walked into a store and behind the cash register was a big sign about what your right were NOT. The back of a sales receipt or work order had in 8 point print the terms and conditions of their work?
Spam - Advertisements that cluttering up my email inbox, and phone calls from a business I just stopped by once. Now they are begging me to come back and give them more money.
Hidden Fees – Sales tax is expected, but when a service like airlines add extra fees. Then when I buy a car from a dealership they are charging me for the car plus sales tax, plus a dozen other fees that should be built into the price of the car.
A Sale Is Not A Sale – You go out on Sunday afternoon to buy that SD memory card on sale. Then a week later you find it more than a $1 cheaper at the same store. This time it is not on sale.
Rude Sales People – If you want my hard earn money, treat me with respect. I have been in some store where they acted like I did not exist. These are the ones I walked out and never been back, except when they were the only ones in town that had what I want.
What annoys you? Tell me what keeps you from going back to a particular business or using a particular service?
